Pane count, not window count
A grid or divided-light window is many small panes and takes several times as long as a single sheet of the same area.

Exterior only is the quickest. Interior work means moving furniture, covering sills and working around a household.

Height and access
Ground floor is fast. Second and third-story glass, transoms and stairwell windows need poles or ladders and take considerably longer.

Routine dirt rinses away. Hard water etching, paint specks, construction film and years of build-up are restoration work rather than cleaning.
